Dr. Todd Kays’ mission is to bring the principles of sport and performance psychology to life for anyone with whom he works. It is one thing to read books about sport psychology and a completely different story to know how to apply and “practice and train the mind.” Dr. Kays is a leader in the field of Sport and Performance Psychology. The co-author of Sport Psychology for Dummies (2010), Dr. Kays’ training and guidance have helped thousands of athletes eliminate the most common mental errors and breakdowns in sport. For five years, he was the sport psychologist for the Columbus Crew, the major league soccer team in Columbus, Ohio and has worked with numerous soccer players and coaches throughout the country.
Flutist John Samuel Roper enjoys a dynamic and exciting career as a sought after performer and teaching artist in the lowcountry of South Carolina. He is the Principal Flutist of the Long Bay Symphony, plays frequently with ensembles throughout the Southeast, and maintains a thriving private studio in the greater Charleston area.
Flutist Jennifer Parker-Harley is Associate Professor of Flute at the University of South Carolina in Columbia where she enjoys a versatile career as a teacher and performer. An experienced orchestral flutist, Jennifer was a member of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra in Ohio for eight years before moving to South Carolina. During her tenure there, she appeared as soloist with the CSO, as well as many other orchestras in the central Ohio area. Jennifer has also been a member of the Ft. Wayne Philharmonic and the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra and has performed with the Cincinnati Symphony, the St. Louis Symphony, the Augusta Symphony, the South Carolina Philharmonic and the Charleston Symphony.
Sarah Barker is a psychophysical education expert in Alexander Technique and Performing Arts. She is Professor Emerita at the University of South Carolina teaching in the Department of Theatre and Dance and in the Honors College. She is author of articles, books and DVDs about Alexander Technique. She is a frequently invited speaker, teacher and coach for professional musicians and actors in the US, Canada, Japan and Europe. Her work improves one’s experience of moving, performing and enjoying life.
Dr. Korinne Smith is a flutist, teacher, and an upcoming female leader in the music industry. She currently serves on the NFA Pedagogy Committee and is a leading expert in the field of Senior Adult Music Making. She has presented her research at several conference throughout the US, Canada, and Europe. Her full-time commitment is serving as the Northeast Regional Sales Manager for Eastman Music Company as well as the Interim Sales Manager for the Wm. S. Haynes Flute Company. Cormac Cannon is Director of Bands and Associate Professor of Music at the University of South Carolina, where he conducts the University of South Carolina Wind Ensemble, guides the graduate wind conducting program, and oversees all aspects of the band program.
Dr. Philip Snyder is a flutist, composer/performer, educator, and administrator currently living in New York City. Jennifer Mitchell, Assistant Director of Music Admissions helps to inform, recruit and prepare prospective undergraduate and graduate students for the University of South Carolina School of Music. She earned a Bachelor of Music from Columbia College in 2007 and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of South Carolina School of Music in 2017.
Dr. Emily Stumpf is committed to working with people and making her community a better place as an artist citizen by sharing her joy and passion for the flute and music making. She is currently Adjunct Instructor of Flute at USC Aiken and the director of KinderFlute Columbia.
Lauren Remmers is a full-time professional flutist and piccoloist who teaches and performs throughout North and South Carolina. She received degrees in Flute Performance from Boston University and the University of South Carolina. In addition to performing, Ms. Remmers has been teaching professionally for 15 years, has worked with several high-school band programs in the Charlotte and York County areas, and maintains a large private studio of flutists of all ages. Her students regularly receive recognition at competitions and many have gone on to pursue music as a career path.
Roya Farzaneh is a current DMA candidate at the University of South Carolina and Adjunct Faculty at Presbyterian College. She has presented health and wellness workshops across the country with a hope of sharing her passion of playing pain free. Roya has had the privilege of studying with Jennifer Parker-Harley, Trevor Wye, George Pop, and Deanna Little.
